Cat owners keep seeing the same bag on social media. A celebrity founder, a sardine flavored freeze dried raw formula, and a price tag that makes you pause at checkout. Badlands Ranch cat food promises restaurant quality nutrition in a scoop. But promises are cheap, and cat food is not. I dug into the ingredient…
Your dog deserves better than mystery meat pellets. That thought probably brought you here. Badlands Ranch Superfood Complete has flooded social media feeds since actress Katherine Heigl launched it, and the marketing promises shinier coats, better digestion, and more energy. But marketing is easy. Real results are harder. I fed this food to two dogs…
Choosing dry cat food feels harder every year. Bags promise “holistic,” “natural,” and “premium,” yet the ingredient panels often tell a different story. Bench and Field sits in a strange middle spot. It is a small family brand from 1926, sold quietly at Trader Joe’s, Amazon, and Chewy, with a loyal group of owners who…
Your dog stares at the food bowl. You stare back. Something is off. Maybe the coat looks dull, maybe the stomach rumbles too often, or maybe the current kibble just costs too much for what it delivers. Artemis Pet Food Company keeps popping up in those searches, and the brand carries a quiet reputation among…
Annamaet is one of those dog food brands that most people have never heard of, yet serious dog folks talk about it constantly. Sled dog racers feed it. Field trial trainers feed it. Small independent pet shops keep it stocked behind the counter. Meanwhile the big box shelves stay full of louder brands with prettier…
Your cat sniffs the bowl, walks away, and you feel defeated again. Most cat owners know that moment well. Almo Nature promises a fix with short ingredient lists, real fish chunks, and a business model that sends profits to animal charities. That sounds almost too good for a pet food brand. I fed Almo Nature…
Your cat stares at the bowl. She sniffs. She walks away. If that scene feels familiar, you have probably spent hours reading kibble labels and wondering which brand actually earns its price tag. Applaws shows up in that search a lot. The bags look clean, the ingredient lists stay short, and the brand talks about…
Your cat sniffs the bowl, then walks away. Again. You have tried three brands this month. Sound familiar? Applaws shows up in almost every “picky cat” conversation online, and for good reason. The cans look more like human tuna than pet food. The ingredient list fits on one line. But cute packaging does not feed…
Your cat stares at you at 6 a.m. The bowl is empty. Your wallet is thin. That is the exact moment most people reach for a can of 9 Lives. This brand has fed American cats since 1957, and Morris the orange tabby is still one of the most recognized faces in pet food. But…
Cat food prices climbed again this year, and 9Lives still sits on the shelf at under a dollar per can. That price tag raises an obvious question. Is this food a smart budget pick, or is it cheap for a reason? I bought three 9Lives products in 2026 and fed them to two adult cats…
